HOW WE CAN HELP
HELP IS AVAILBLE
If you are 18 years or older and live in Shelby County, single, mentally and physically stable, battling homelessness, domestic violence and an addiction, you can call (901) 353-0927 Mondaythrough Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.A member of our staff will listen and answer any questions you might have. The information you share with us is confidential.
NEXT STEP
We will conduct a brief screening of your needs over the phone. If our program is a good fit for you, we will schedule an initial intake appointment with the executive director, Wanda Taylor. At that time, you will be asked to please bring two forms of identification. If our program is not a good fix, we will do everything we can to help you find another shelter.
THE ADMISSSION PROCESS
Please be prepared to provide personal information, which we use to determine eligibility. Admission is determined based on bed availability. If you qualify and a bed is available, you will be able to move in the same day. We do not hold beds. If a bed is not available, your name will be added to our waiting list and someone will be notified once a bed is available.

Ladies In Need Can Survive, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Many women come to LINCS with just the clothes on their backs. Some of them come under the influence of drugs and alcohol, jobless and have no health insurance. Because they do not have income and insurance, many of them are turned awayat other shelters. They need help. At LINCS, we help themwhether they can pay or not. However, operating a residential establishment can be costly. That’s why we rely on grants, fundraisers, foundations, and financial support from churches and private individuals.
